I said I would never run another but I am back for a second marathon…. It is going to hurt!!! Raising cash for Sheffield Samaritans. I know times a hard but if you can spare a dime I’ll be eternally grateful.

As some of you might know this is dear to my heart as I recently became a volunteer taking calls at Samaritans.

It costs £1000 per week to keep the Sheffield branch open. Samaritans Sheffield is not centrally funded and due to the Samaritans shop closure in early 2025 and a lack of income streams we rely on donations and fund raising to keep the lights on.

Sheffield Samaritans provides confidential emotional support, by telephone, email and letter. We provide assistance to individuals who are suicidal, despairing or in distress in order to reduce the incidence of suicide. We advance education by providing society with a better understanding of suicide, suicidal behaviour, and the value of expressing feelings that may lead to suicide.
