I love being outdoors in God’s wonderful creation, so have joined the Bag-A-Ben fundraiser to raise vital funds for the amazing work of Christian Aid, whom I've supported since being a student more than 60 years ago.

We are blessed in Scotland to have scenic hills, spectacular mountains and interesting wildlife, and May is a great time to go exploring.

The challenge is to climb any hill called ‘ben’ during the month of May,. The nearest one to me is Bennachie - it's not particularly high but has 5 separate summits. I have walked to all of them before, 1 or 2 at a time, but not recently. I hope to do all of them in May 2026 - though not all at once. I'll be in a small group for each, with one or more friends or family members to record whether I make it!
