I’m taking on the Rat Race Castle to Castle on Saturday 4th July. It’s a 100 mile coastal path running up the North East of England, over the boarder into Scotland, from Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle.

For anyone, running 100 miles has an uncertain outcome. There are so many variables - injuries, weather, stomach issues - that can pounce at any time and knock you off course. It’s a hard thing to do, regardless of the number of training runs, practice events and experience.

For me though it’s a choice. I choose to push myself beyond my limits. For the communities supported by the IFS Foundation, challenge, pain, hunger and uncertainty is just a daily way of life. My pain is my privilege.
