Story
Thatās right, James and I are braving getting the girls over a 2.5k inflatable assault course and all in the name of fun! And weāve managed to rope in my brother Marc, and nieces, Sophia and Phoebe.
Fun being one of the most important things that Challengers provides for disabled children and young people. Many of you reading this will not have experienced barriers to accessing play opportunities for your children, but so many do. At Challengers families have shared that their young people that have been excluded from other settings because the staff are not trained to deal with their medical needs, the environment is not secure and therefore not safe, the setting is not prepared to support the young person with personal care they may need. These are just a few of the reasons. Every child has the right to play, and Challengers ensures that there is no barrier to this. At Challengers they train staff to meet the needs of the young people, whether that be a medical, communication, behaviour or other specific need. They provide opportunities where everyone can be included, no one misses out!
Challengers relies on fundraising to provide these opportunities, and this is why we would be so grateful to receive donations for them as part of this challenge.
