Water for Akkar (Lebanon)
Campaign by Muslim Hands (RCN 1105056)
This Ramadan we aim to provide a Refugee camp in Aakkar with constant clean water by providing them with the solar panels which will power the wells they need for clean water to drink.

Story

In March 2023, 12 volunteers from across the UK were given the opportunity to visit Lebanon for a charity deployment. It was a heartbreaking experience and a big eye opener for all of them. They visited a camp in Aakkar, where they met brother Muhammed who told them that the water was contaminated and not safe to drink. The team decided to do something about it and raise money for solar panels to power the well and provide clean water to the whole camp. These families have been living in these poor conditions for nearly 11 years!

On 9th September 2023, a handful of us will be doing an Ingleton Falls trek to fundraise as much as we can towards our £1,000 target in sha Allah. Please donate whatever you can towards this sadqa jariya project - every penny counts! Together we can make a difference.
