Story
My name is Ishfaq Farooq, a Bradford born entrepreneur, director of MyLahore and Wunder Crumble, and proud to be the first ever ambassador for Bradford Hospitals Charity.
When I first took on this role, I set a personal mission: to raise £30,000 to help fund the kitchen and dining area in the new Home from Home facility for families with babies in the Neonatal Unit.
Alhamdulillah, through the incredible support of family, friends, local businesses and our wider community and with the backing of everyone at MyLahore and Wunder Crumble we have successfully achieved the £30,000 target for the kitchen and dining area. But this journey doesn’t stop there.
The full Home from Home project is a £3 million appeal, designed to support families whose babies are receiving specialist care in Bradford’s Neonatal Unit.
These families often travel long distances every day. Some sleep in chairs beside their baby’s incubator. Others stay in hotel rooms for weeks or months while their child fights for life.
This project will create a safe, comfortable place where parents can rest, cook, share meals and support one another, while remaining close to their baby during the most difficult time of their lives.
As someone who believes deeply in the power of food, family and community, I know that something as simple as a shared kitchen or a warm meal can bring comfort, dignity and strength when families need it most.
Now we want to go much further.
I’m inviting businesses, organisations and individuals across our city and beyond to come together and help us complete this incredible project.
Whether you donate £1 or £10,000, organise a fundraiser, or simply share the message every contribution helps bring us closer to completing this £3 million Home from Home facility.
Together, we can create a place of hope, comfort and community for families facing the toughest moments of their lives.
Please join us and be part of something truly special.
Donate today and help families stay close to their babies when it matters most.
