Over 300 civilians have been killed and hundreds injured from the fighting. Islamic Relief staff in Sudan are monitoring the situation and are on standby to provide vital aid if the crisis escalates further. If the violence continues and spreads there is a high risk of large numbers of women, men and children being displaced from their homes.

⚠️ Around 24.6 million people face severe food shortages, and 638,000 are on the brink of famine.

Over 3.7 million children under 5 are acutely malnourished and urgently need treatment.
