Story
On 26th April 2026 we are running the London Marathon to help raise money for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital charity.
On 12th December 2024 Ivo's daughter Leonora, was born with a rare birth defect (Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia) and Ivo and Tash were told that her chances of survival were slim. The only hope was to have her transferred immediately to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where she would undergo an incredibly high-risk procedure that carried a 50:50 survival rate. Thankfully, the doctors at GOSH were able to avoid that scenario and stabilise her to the point of being able to withstand surgery at 6 days old. The surgery saved her life. It was then a long, 3-and-a-half month journey to finally get her home, with many bumps along the road, over which time Leonora received the best care from some of the best medical minds in the world. She is incredibly lucky, and we are forever indebted to them.
As well as being one of Ivo's oldest and best friends for nearly a quarter of century, and therefore incredibly inspired by Leonora's story; Ollie has close ties to the charity. His uncle David (Chappers) was treated by them throughout his childhood. Having been given a life expectancy of 30 when he was born, he passed away two years ago aged 72 (and he wasn't playing for bad light...). This incredible life was in no small part facilitated by the skill and diligence of GOSH; Chappers went on to be a huge supporter of the charity throughout his life.
Please give generously to support a cause that will go on to save and improve countless young lives, and be countless desperate parents' beacon of hope in their hour of need.
