The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

After not being able to complete the Manchester Marathon with Joe and Kerry in Mum’s memory last year, I have signed up to run this year to raise funds again for Guide Dogs.

Mum loved volunteering for this amazing charity that helps so many people each year, and we want to raise as much money as possible in Mum’s memory for a cause that was so close to her heart.

After Joe and Kerry’s amazing effort last year, we’re so close to hitting the £20k mark following the various events we’ve hosted/taken part in over the last 9 years.

We’re so grateful for any donations that can push us closer to, and hopefully past the £20k mark for the event that falls nearly 9 years to the day since we lost our amazing Mum.

Any donations, no matter how big or small, are really appreciated and will keep me going through the many cold and wet training miles that are coming in the next few months.

Here is some more info about the amazing work that Guide Dogs do:

Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.

Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
