Story
Jamie and Sam lost their mother to cancer in late 2021. Their mother Karen Henry was known by many to be the best and most caring mother we could have asked for, and a friend to many. She chose to be cared for by the lovely people at St Oswald's Hospice. The team at St Oswald's provided a comfortable and compassionate environment that allowed Karen to spend quality time with family and friends before she passed.
Jamie and Sam saw first-hand the importance of hospice services like St Oswald’s in giving people an environment to pass with dignity and privacy whilst being surrounded by loved ones. This allows the patient to focus on spending valuable time with family and friends. Their work makes such a difference to families having to go through situations like we did.
Myself (Jackson) along with Alice, Zoe, Harrison, Jamie, Tom, Sam and Tai have decided to run the 2023 Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon to raise money for St Oswald’s in memory of Jamie and Sam's mum and in support of St Oswald's. Any donation is appreciated.
