James' Marathon Fundraiser for BBS UK

James Anstee is raising money for BBS UK

Brighton Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We support people diagnosed with BBS, their parents, carers, and siblings as well as professionals involved in all aspects of the care and support of people with BBS in the UK. We are a user-led organisation, represented by adults with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) and parents of children with BBS.

Story

My sister Emmy was diagnosed with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) in 2008. BBS is a rare genetic condition that affects multiple body systems. It's characterised by a range of symptoms, including vision loss, obesity, extra fingers or toes, learning difficulties, and kidney abnormalities.

The charity BBS UK provide support to those with BBS and their families something me and my family have experienced over many years.

I'm raising money to support BBS UK in the amazing work they do in the hope they can continue to help families like mine and individuals like my sister going forward.
