Remembering Mat (One T) Brown

Matthew Brown was my big brother - and way better at running than me. But we both shared many runs over the years and he'd slow down for me so we could chat. Before speeding off into the distance!

That was before we lost him, far too early, due to epilepsy, back in 2019.

So now, five years later, along with many more family members, I am running the Great North Run for the Epilepsy Research Institute UK. I've never run a half marathon before, so this will be a new challenge, as will getting to Newcastle from Copenhagen as there are no direct flights - so let's just call this a full marathon.

Losing Mat(t) had a devastating effect on the whole family, but especially for his wife Sarah and children Hanne and Toby.

A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research.
