Story
Hi after many happy years of not running half marathons or even 10K i have now found myself having to run another half with my brother from another mother Chris Simpson due to losing a bet that was bitter sweet situation.
So as i am running the Oxford half i thought i would try and raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity that has helped my Friend Paul Masters and his better half Siobhan Masters through an unimaginable time in their lives. So Paul set up Run for the Boys to raise money for SSNAP while Honouring his Twin Boys memories.
This charity is SSNAP (Support for Sick Newborns and their Parents), a charity that supports babies, families and the neonatal team at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Every year, more than 1,000 families experience the shock of having a baby admitted to the Neonatal Unit. At a time filled with uncertainty, SSNAP is there to provide emotional and practical support, helping families through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
Your donation will help fund SSNAP's Family Care Team, keep the Parent Pantry stocked with free food and essentials, provide specialist equipment, support research, enhance family spaces, support the incredible NHS neonatal staff, and continue Little SSNAPlings peer support groups after discharge.
SSNAP receives no statutory funding, so every donation, whatever the size, makes a real difference. Thank you for supporting my fundraising and helping give every baby the best possible start.
So please donate as the Run for the boys has nearly raised £40000 and with this run we hope to smash that.
