Churches in Bristol providing shelter for homeless people over the winter months.

Story

Hi

I’m Jane, Senior Coordinator for Bristol Churches Shelter (BCS). BCS is a fantastic project providing 24/7 accommodation for people rough sleeping in Bristol during the coldest months of the year, from November through March. Alongside a safe place to stay, we offer three meals a day and personalised support to help our guests take steps towards more stable accommodation and a brighter future.

BCS is a partnership of local churches and is governed by inHope. Our dedicated staff team is supported by incredible volunteers, whose kindness and commitment create a safe, welcoming environment where people can begin to rebuild their lives.

Now in its sixth year, the shelter is once again operating from a Bed and Breakfast, where we’ve block-booked nine rooms to provide much-needed refuge during the winter.

"This place is homely and every one made me feel welcome and people here go above and beyond to make your dreams come true and achieve where we need to be. When I arrived I saw others getting a place and I thought would this ever be me, but it is me and I have a flat now." - Guest
