Jane's 50km Ultra Challenge!

Bath 50 Ultra Challenge 2025 · 29 March 2025 ·
As I near the ripe old age of 50, I wanted to set myself a challenge to raise money for The Daisy Garland, an amazing charity who are very special to our family.
On Saturday 29th March 2025, I will be taking part in a 50km walk around the city of Bath. There is no backing out now!
As many of you know, in 2014, Eva was diagnosed with a rare type of epilepsy called ESES. Eva's seizures were not responsive to the countless medications we tried and seeing our happy little girl suffering was heartbreaking.
As Eva’s seizures couldn’t be controlled with medication, she started on the Ketogenic diet, this seemed like a daunting task for us as parents, but thankfully we were introduced to The Daisy Garland. They have been a constant support to us over the past 10 years.
The charity was founded in 2004 by Sara & David Garland in memory of their daughter Daisy who suffered from drug resistant epilepsy. The charity works exclusively for some of the 18,000 children and families in the UK whose lives have been touched by drug resistant epilepsy. They primarily provide lifesaving nightime breathing monitors for children and funding for paediatric ketogenic dieticians in NHS settings around the country. They have also set up a number of projects and initiatives to bring positivity to the children and families they support.
Please take a look at their website to see for yourself the amazing work they do:

I will be walking with other mums whose children suffer from epilepsy and whom The Daisy Garland have supported. Your donations, however small, will mean so much. The work and help that The Daisy Garland provide has been life changing for us and so many others.
It will also make my sore feet and blisters even more worth it!
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it.
