Santa in the City 2023 · 6 December 2023 to 7 December 2023 ·

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.

Story

Hi friends, I'm doing the Santa in the City run to raise money for UCL's new centre for neuroscience with The National Brain Appeal!

I kind of hate running and the sound of doing a 5K is a bit terrifying but (extended) gap year vibes = growth right?

I'll also be wearing a santa suit while running lols.

Neurological conditions such as dementia, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy massively impact everyday functioning and quality of life, but despite the growing burden advancements in the field have been incredible.

The centre aims to bring together some of the leading organisations for translational research directly connecting patients, researchers and clinicians (very interdisciplinary we love it).

Any support will be a massive help and greatly appreciated <3

The National Brain Appeal has committed to raise £7million towards the creation of UCL's new, state-of-the-art neuroscience hub on Grays Inn Road.

Bringing together research scientists, clinicians and patients, the centre will house a world leading facility for dementia and neurological disease research, with more than 500 neurological research scientists from UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI).
