Story
For the last couple of years I’ve had the privilege to watch Alan use his skills in community building in his role at the Clyde FC Community Foundation to grow spaces in Glasgow that support people through football. This includes a weekly session for unaccompanied minors- young people who have come to the UK seeking asylum by themselves when they were under 18- as well as free holiday camps (with food!) in the East End of Glasgow. Alan as ever is driven by a desire to do what’s right and works hard to secure as much funding as possible to allow people across the city to have these opportunities without needing to pay.
Whilst there is funding out there, charities also rely on the generosity of people more broadly, and that’s where you come in. I am walking 23 miles from Glasgow to Balloch as part of the kilt walk to help fund these amazing initiatives that Alan has started. I get to hear stories from Alan every day about the impact these sessions have on young people, and know how much of a good cause this is. I would love if you could donate something small to help ensure that no one has to pay to access these spaces.
