Barns Green Half Marathon · 27 September 2026

St Catherine's are delighted to be charity partner once again for the Run Barns Green Half Marathon, 10km and 5km taking place on Sunday 27th September 2026. Join Team StCH and help us make it an extra special race.

Story

This Sunday, 27th September, I’m taking on the Barns Green Half Marathon, and what makes it truly special is that I’ll be running it alongside my son, Fraser. It’s our first half marathon, and we’re proud to be supporting St Catherine’s Hospice, the official charity partner of the race. Their work is incredibly important, and although I don’t have a personal story connected to them, I deeply believe in the care, dignity, and compassion they provide to people and families who need it most.

I’ll be honest I’ve left it a little late to gather support, but I’m hoping people will still get behind us. I wasn’t a runner until 2021. I started with Couch to 5K, wondering if I’d even make it through those early intervals, pains in my feet, cramps and lots of heavy breathing. Since then, running has become part of my life but stepping up to a half marathon is a whole new challenge. Some of the training runs have been tough, and I’ve definitely realised just how big a leap this is for me. I won’t be quick, but I’m determined to finish.

Fraser, on the other hand, will probably be waiting for me at the finish line. He’s been putting in the work and pushing himself to achieve the best time he can. This page supports both of us as we take on the distance together, one running for speed, one running for stubbornness and heart.

If you’re able to sponsor us, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps St Catherine’s Hospice continue their vital work, and your support will mean a lot to both of us as we take on this challenge side by side.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for any support you can give.
