Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur have been supporting vulnerable children and their families for 25 years where I live. As much as I’d love to envisage a world without the need for their support and services, I’m sorry to say that they are needed now, more than ever. There are over 18,000 children across Arun, Worthing & Adur living in relative poverty.

For families who have so many other pressures to contend with, such as financial struggles, mental or physical health difficulties, living with domestic abuse, bereavement or being a lone parent, life can feel insurmountable.

I have been connected to Home-Start locally for over 20 years, both professionally when I was involved with Children & Family centres and personally. As a grandparent of twins, a wonderful volunteer came along to help my daughter who was a single parent and suffered post- natal depression. This meant I could just be Mum and Grandma at times rather than carer a different supportive presence was so appreciated by us all.

I am walking 25km to celebrate 25 years and aim to raise £250 so that Home-Start can continue their vital work. Please help me to improve the life chances of local children and sponsor me today!
