One Mile a Day – October Challenge · 1 October 2025 to 31 October 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

This October, we’re inviting you to wrap up warm and walk with purpose. Walk one mile a day in October. Take each step in honour of someone who can’t and help change lives with every mile.

Story

This October, I’m taking on the Walk One Mile a Day challenge to raise vital funds for lung cancer support and research. I’ve set myself the goal of 150 miles across October. For every mile I walk, my boyfriend Luke is cycling 2 miles, so is doing 300 miles of cycling in October!

My mum is somebody who’s fought cancer 3 times and is the strongest most resilient person I know. This summer, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at 55yrs old. It really does feel like it’s turned our lives upside down, but something I’ve always admired about my mum is her ability to keep pushing in the face of adversity. Despite everything she’s been through and continues to go through, she just keeps putting one foot in front of the other.

I’m completing this challenge to try and match even 1% of my mums resilience and strength, and to raise money for a cause that is so important to so many families.

Whether it’s £1 or £5 any donation goes towards families facing the challenges cancer brings.

Thanks💙
