Story
Pancreatic Cancer is utterly brutal and for the vast majority of those affected, it goes undetected until it's too late.
When Dad was diagnosed, the spread of the disease made surgery impossible. And the debilitating pain and fatigue he experienced meant active treatment was not an option.
Dad died nine traumatic weeks after diagnosis and his absence has left a huge void in our lives. He was an incredible Dad and Grumpy and is deeply missed by us all. But the loss for Mum has been devastating beyond words.
On June 1st, me and Mum are taking part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk in memory of Dad. We're walking 18 miles, dedicating every step to people affected by this awful disease.
Every penny raised will go directly to Pancreatic Cancer Action who make early detection their number one priority. Funding to facilitate this crucial work is the only way to ensure more people survive.
