It has been nearly one year since the class of 3AM learned that their friend and classmate, Sophie, had passed away. In 2024 they completed a 7km walk to celebrate her life, and also to raise money for the wonderful Lily Foundation charity, who were a tremendous support to Sophie and her family throughout her battle with mitochondrial disease. The support the children received with their fundraising from friends and family for the charity was just phenomenal.

In 2025 the friends are going again! This time setting themselves the target to walk 9km for Sophie, in memory for her upcoming heavenly 9th birthday. They will be led from the front again by Sophie’s little brother Roman 🧡

Everyday in the UK a child is born who will develop mito, no treatment no cure. This needs to change.

Together we can make a difference and hopefully one day find a cure for this debilitating disease.
