Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We will be taking part in the Great North Run, in September 2024, for the charity Mind, as part of the Heads Together campaign. We will be running in memory of Michael, and all those we know who have died with, or who are still living with poor mental health.
We are aiming to raise awareness for the importance of men's mental health, and to spread the message that no problem is too big, or too small to be solved.
Generally, men tend to put more focus on their physical health, whilst ignoring the importance of their mental fitness. However, we unfortunately know all too well that the impact of mental health can lead to a sudden physical decline (even in the fittest of men), causing further health issues. Please do not ignore the importance of looking after your mental wellbeing! Talk to a friend before you play a game of football, or rugby, or send a message to them asking if they are really okay? Check twice! We must break the stigma surrounding being able to talk openly about our struggles.
If you are struggling, please know you are not a burden. Talking to a friend or loved one can make an enormous difference until you feel able to seek professional help. You are not alone, and your mental health DOES matter, and will be understood.
