Story
I am taking part in this trek as a goal and achievement for myself as I enter my later years. I love walking and being outdoors and am a keen member of many local walking groups and this trek will surely be a personal test however with the goal of fundraising for a local charity close to mine and many others in the local community this will drive my ambition and enthusiasm to achieve this goal.
Nightingale House provides specialist care and support for individuals and their families who have life limiting or progressive illnesses. i have witnessed first hand the caring, dignified and person centred approach that care and support is given to those in need at immensely difficult times. Nightingale House offers a wide variety of support to both patients an their families including a 12 bed inpatient unit, 27/7 advice line, spiritual support, outpatient clinic, bereavement support, family support team, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to name a few. with less than 19% of the income needed by Nightingale House given by the government the need for donations is crucial. at a cost of £930 a day to care for a patient on a ward fundraising is paramount for these invaluable services to continue.
Please support me in this exciting adventure so we can as a community continue to provide these excellent services and support to people within our wonderful community free of charge. Every donation, no matter how small can make a huge difference to a persons life.
