Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 10th September, for World Suicide Prevention Day, I’ll be teaching a donation-only Jivamukti Yoga class from 5:00–6:00pm at Adéile Studios, with 100% of donations going to Mind. The class will be suitable for all levels.
Around 727,000 people die by suicide every year and many more people struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts.
On 11th December 2011, my beloved father, Michael, died by suicide. His loss has shaped my life in many ways; and I have also lived with depression, anxiety and OCD. Many people I know and love have experienced mental health challenges at some point in their lives, know that you are not alone. So on a personal level, I am dedicating this class to my dad, but I’m also dedicating this class to anyone who is struggling or who has struggled.
This class is my way of raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and helping to reduce the stigma that still surrounds mental health. No one should feel they have to struggle alone.
If you’re currently finding things difficult, please know that things can get better. Support is available, and organisations like Mind do incredible work to ensure that people receive the help they need.
