Story
As part of my 40 runs over two years, I completed the PARIS MARATHON with its iconic landmarks and amazing atmosphere. I was honoured to be taking part on behalf of The Christie Charity, This race was epic and I know Loren would be so proud! Now Paris is over, keep following my journey as I continue to complete my 40 runs challenge.
The Christie is a specialist cancer centre in Manchester with over 120 years’ experience in cancer care, research and education. The Christie Charity helps ensure patients receive the highest standards of treatment and care, with access to world-leading research and equipment.

Cancers like Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma are difficult to treat and this meant Loren had very limited treatment options. The Christie Charity launched The Ella Project which is focused entirely on ACC. The project is named after Ella, who tragically died from ACC in December 2021.
The hospital has the UK’s leading specialist in ACC – Dr Rob Metcalf. Loren talked very highly of Dr Metcalf, he supported her every step of the way.
Loren spent so much time travelling to and from The Christie Hospital in Manchester and it was here she also received her chemotherapy in 2024, looking totally glam as always. Loren loved their Full English breakfast and having a mooch around the shops, her fiancé said it's just like an airport.
Without The Christie, Loren knew she would not have lived her best life during her six year battle with cancer and she was forever truly grateful.
