Story

In October 2024, I was honoured to become Master of the Worshipful Company of Feltmakers. During my year in office I will be organising and participating in a number of events to support the Feltmakers' Charitable Foundation and our nominated charity, Brain Tumour Research, and my chosen charity for the year, SSAFA.

The main fundraising event will be a team cycle ride from London to Paris from 14th to 17th May 2025.

Thank you for your support for these very worthy charities.

SSAFA provides support for both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, including anyone who has completed National Service.

SSAFA helps the armed forces community in a number of ways, though their focus is on providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care, helping to deal with problems which only become apparent when an individual has to leave their life in the Forces and join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems, and rebuild their lives.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this.

BTR is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
