Story
We are a group of teaching assistants who have decided to complete a 21 kilometre walk in memory of Charlie, who would have been turning 21 this year! Any donation will make a huge difference!
One school. One year. £21,000 for Charlie’s Promise.
This year, The Abbey School is incredibly proud to be supporting Charlie’s Promise as our chosen school charity.
Charlie would have celebrated his 21st birthday on 28th October 2026, so we have set ourselves a huge challenge in his memory: to raise £21,000 for Charlie’s Promise over the course of the school year.
And we’re going to need our whole school community to help us do it!
Throughout the year, students, staff, families and friends of The Abbey School will be taking on fundraising events and challenges of all shapes and sizes. From our 21 for 21 challenges and sponsored events to non-uniform days, staff challenges, student-led fundraising and probably a few slightly ridiculous ideas along the way, every event will bring us a little closer to that £21,000 target.
Charlie’s Promise was created following the tragic loss of Charlie Cosser, with a mission to educate young people about the devastating impact of knife crime and to help prevent other families experiencing the same loss.
Our partnership with Charlie’s Promise is also about something we want every Abbey student to understand: you have the power to make a difference.
Whether someone raises £2.10, £21, £210 or £2,100, every contribution matters. Together, thousands of individual acts of kindness, determination and generosity can become something extraordinary.
So please support our students and staff, share our fundraising pages, join one of our challenges or make a donation if you can.
21 years. £21,000. One Abbey community getting behind Charlie’s Promise.
Let’s see what we can achieve together.
