In August 2022 my best friend and younger cousin Shane passed away due to a disability he lived with his whole life. This year Shane would have turned 18 and I wanted to celebrate his memory by donating to a charity that supported both Shane and our family throughout his whole life. Shane was a very loving positive person despite the hardships he faced on a regular basis and he made an impact on anyone instantly. He lit up every room he was in with his massive smile and the amazing hugs he would give out.

I like to believe that Shane would be proud to know that his memory and name has the ability to help raise money for a charity that was so close to his heart. I have donated to the Butterwick Children’s Hospice before and the money was used to buy a sensory tent for the children which is still used and loved today. I believe we can raise money to help the staff and the other children that go to the Butterwick just as they helped Shane and family for his whole life.
