UPDATE!! Thank you everyone for your generosity, due to a bad fall I had a few weeks ago, my physio has recommended that I don’t take part in the marathon. I’ve had scans on my knee and been doing frequent exercises to get my knee back strong and running ready. I have worked so hard and I am really gutted that I cannot take part, however I aim to run the Manchester Half on the 18th May. Sorry and thank you.

On the 27th of April I will be running the Manchester Marathon in memory of my Dad, who we tragically lost last year due to the effects of alcohol misuse. For those of you who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him, he was the funniest man I’ve ever known and I miss him every day and if he was still with us today, he’d think I was crazy for running a marathon!

His journey has inspired me to take action and raise awareness about the devastating impact alcohol can have on individuals and families.

I’m dedicating this run to Alcohol Change UK, a charity that works tirelessly to reduce alcohol harm through support, education, and research. Their efforts save lives and provide hope to those affected by alcohol misuse and addiction.

Every pound donated will help fund life-changing programs, provide resources for those in need, and support research to create a healthier future.
