Hi, my name is Gil Karpas, and I’ve been the Online, Events & Marketing Manager at the Jewish Music Institute (JMI) for over 13 years—a role that reflects a deep and lifelong passion for Jewish music and culture.

You’ve arrived on this page because you were contacted by an Ambassador who is helping me raise funds for JMI’s vital JustGiving campaign.

Before joining JMI, I spent over a decade promoting Jewish music across the South East of the UK and internationally. My work at JMI has been a daily source of purpose and fulfilment—helping deliver public programmes that celebrate, educate, and connect.

From our JMI Summer Schools (below) and Klezmer in the Park festival (above), to academic conferences like Yallah, and countless concerts and events, I’ve seen firsthand how Jewish music can inspire and uplift communities—both online and in person, across the UK and beyond.

As JMI enters its fifth decade, we are expanding our programmes and outreach. We believe Jewish voices must continue to be heard. Your support isn't just appreciated--It's essential. By donating today, you are: Investing in a more inclusive and vibrant cultulral future for Britain, helping amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard, ensuring Jewish music and culture continues to inspire, educate and connect across generations and backgrounds.

Please click the “GIVE NOW” button at the top of this page to make a donation—every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact. Thank you for helping us nurture this treasured thread in the tapestry of global culture.
