Story
Well here I am……with a ballot place in the London marathon!
It was an easy decision to choose a charity to train and run for………Hospice at Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland.
Hospice at Home are a charity based organisation who give amazing quality care and support to patients who have life limiting conditions.
Before retiring I used to be a Community Nurse with Brampton District Nurses and we regularly worked alongside the Hospice at Home team. This would often be for palliative and end-of-life care for patients in their own home. The team always provided such kind, empathetic individualised, personal care to their patients. It was a pleasure to work beside them. The patient and families were so very grateful for all the services Hospice at Home could provide during a difficult and vulnerable time for them.
Other services the team provides include complementary therapies, occupational therapy, bereavement and befriending services as well as respite and lymphoedema care.
As care from Hospice at Home is free, donations are important to keep this indispensable local charity to continue to provide the excellent care within our community.
I would be so grateful for any support you are able to offer to such a worthy local cause.
Thank you, thank you xxxx
