Thank you for supporting my fundraising. I am hoping to crash through my target and with the help of people like you, I can do it.

As a Sunflowers 🌻 parent I have a very strong connection to this charity. Monty was born with a pretty long list of conditions, some of which combined, make him the only one in the UK that we know of.

Open heart and windpipe reconstruction amongst other major surgeries and hospital stays which were so frequent the staff and other patients became our new families.

During one long stay in our local hospital we were visited by Joanne who brought Monty toys and games to play with and some toiletries for me. She probably doesn’t realise just how isolated I felt at that time and how much that visit meant to me (and Monty). 💛

But this is not an appeal full of doom and gloom because Monty is so full of life and brings joy to all who meet him. Appointments, tests, scans and surgeries are part of our lives now and we make the best of it.

My reason for joining the team to run the London Marathon 2026 is to pay it forward by raising money for this incredibly supportive charity.

Olivia (Monty’s devoted big sister) is joining me in my training and we will be running the 10k in September in preparation.

With your contributions, Sunflowers will be able to continue to put on events like the Christmas party, to provide families like mine with memories we can hold onto forever. 💛
