Hi everyone, I am running the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 7 April to raise money for 'Sanctuary Scholarships' as part of Team Hallam.

Over 44,400 people every day are forced to flee their homes across the world due to war, civil unrest and persecution. Some of these refugees come to Sheffield to start a new life, seek sanctuary and want to develop their knowledge and skills through education (UNHCR, 2019).

The Hallam Fund supports Sanctuary Scholarships for students who have sought asylum in the UK and are coming to study at Sheffield Hallam University. The scholarships provide a full package of support for students during their studies so they can participate actively in the Hallam student community.
