I am joining with La La Choirs men to take part in the Men’s Walk on 15 March 2025 because we are determined to stand by our local hospice, so that they can be there for others during one of life’s most difficult journeys.

Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill patients and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer free, expert end-of-life care in the community and at Searle House hospice in Exeter. Over the years, they’ve comforted and cared for thousands of people in our community, enabling them to live life to the fullest.

Despite the difference Hospiscare makes to so many, due to inequitable funding from the Devon Integrated Care Board, they have been forced to reduce the number of beds on its ward from 12 to 8.

We want local people to be able to access vital end-of-life care when they need it – and we can’t take our local hospice for granted.
