🚴♂️ Cycling For a Cause That Matters 💪
This August, I’ll be taking on my biggest challenge to date, joining an incredible team for Cycling for Good (C4G) – an employee-led UBS initiative that unites colleagues from around the world, to raise money for charities in our local communities.
We’ll be cycling 680km over five full days, across the Dolomites from Munich to Padova, Italy. The route includes 11,700 metres of climbing. For context, Mount Everest is 'only' 8,849m!
We'll be doing this in August, when the mercury could rise into the high 30s. This for someone who frequently gets sunburnt. In February. In England...
We’ll ride through iconic terrain and up unforgiving climbs – Berchtesgaden National Park, the mighty Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, Passo Giau, and Monte Grappa.
Since 2014, C4G riders have raised over GBP 1.04 million for grassroots charities around the world, and this year we are raising money for SportInspired. For 17 years SportInspired has been working directly with children and young people from the UK's 20% most deprived communities. These children are 3x more likely to experience mental health issues, 2x more likely to be obese by 11, and face worse unemployment prospects. SportInspired use sports-based events to instil the requisite behaviours, skills and beliefs in these children, to improve wellbeing and overall life chances of those who need it most.
We now need YOU to give generously to keep our legs turning for the 680 long kiliometers ahead. Your donation – no matter the size – will help fund local charities doing vital work.
