Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

My son. Jordi was only 17 years old when he suddenly passed away whilst in his way to his first day at work.

He was a very fit, sporty and healthy young man who loved playing football.

Unbeknown to him or his family, Jordi had been born with a heart defect which had gone un-detected and ultimately ended his life so early.

This could have been detected, treated and his life potentially saved had we have been made aware of heart screening. This is not a service provided free of charge on the NHS but is one offered free of charge by the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

Some of Jordi’s best friends and I are running the 2025 Manchester Marathon to raise funds that will assist in CRY raising awareness as well as hosting screening sessions.

I know there are many worthwhile causes and fund raisers asking for your hard earned pennies however I really do appreciate any donation as this could the life of one of your loved ones.

This is for you Jordi 💙
