Story
During a pretty challenging couple of years healthwise, my friends Shirley and Paul have supported me greatly and now is the time for me to support them.
They’ve asked me to be part of a team heading to Malawi for the beginning of a project of building a school in a remote village to give the community a better chance of growth and progression.
Shirley and Paul are doing this in memory of their son Dom who lost his life far too early.
It’s a fantastic cause and they’re already planning for their next school in 2027 but for now, I’m asking for support for a trek that is taking me massively out of my comfort zone.
We’ll be staying in the village, living the life of a remote community isolated from electricity, running water and worst of all for a lot of us a mobile phone signal!!
Everyone that knows me will be well aware that manual labour is absolutely NOT in my skill set, so to be digging, pushing wheelbarrows or making bricks in 30 degree heat all whilst denied from my usual tools of my mobile and a cold pint is surely something to spare a few quid for.
So if it’s to revel in my potential discomfort or to encourage me to work that little bit harder, anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
