Supporting Ashgate Hospice is been part of our yearly events, who need all the support they can get. But for us it reminds us of Doreen who supported the hospice for many years before passing away.

Having completed the High Peak Trail event with my son and grandson previously. This year my granddaughter Grace is taking the opportunity to really challenge herself and me by going "One step beyond"! Having already completed the "Sparkle Walk" for the last two years and registered already for this year, she wanted to double the distance and is doing the 11 mile walk of the high peak trail.

This is a great opportunity for both Grace and I to enjoy the beauty of the peak district together for a good cause and builds on her desire to help others.

As part of her school life Grace joined the De Ferrers Academy Combined Cadet Force, is now beginning to pursue a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and has recently began to volunteer at her local church helping the local community enjoy coffee mornings and afternoons, a busy schedule for the 13 year old.
