🏃♂️ 1 R YORKS LAD Takes on Gruelling 4x4x48 Challenge for Scotty’s Little Soldiers 🇬🇧
Catterick – 22 October 2025
In a powerful show of endurance, camaraderie, and compassion, the 1st Battalion The Royal Yorkshire Regiment Light Aid Detachment (LAD) is gearing up to tackle the legendary 4x4x48 Challenge-running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours-in support of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have lost a parent in the British Armed Forces.
Led by SSgt Jonpaul Lownds, the team will push their physical and mental limits over two days, running through the night, battling fatigue, and embracing the spirit of service that defines the Armed Forces community.
“This challenge is about more than just fitness-it’s about honouring the memory of our fallen comrades and standing by the families they’ve left behind,” said SSgt Lownds. “Scotty’s Little Soldiers does incredible work, and we’re proud to support them.”
