Hundreds of people including children are missing, many are dead and communities have been devastated after sudden flash floods struck Nepal's Rasuwa district.

The flooding, caused by a surge of water entering the Bhote Koshi River from Tibet, swept through villages with little warning.

Many of you may know of my existing plans to hike to Everest Base Camp through the month of October. I want to support the people of Nepal in ways far more impactful than usual tourist tips in the wake of this tragedy. Therefore, I am taking part in Race to Respond, covering a minimum of 10K (I anticipate I will cover almost 150km along the trek) to raise money for the Nepal Floods Emergency response.
