The Welsh 3000s is a long-distance walking challenge in Snowdonia taking place in June 2023. Participants are raising money for community-based mental health projects.

Story

In order to complete the Welsh 3000s Challenge one must summit all 15 of the mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the space of 24 hours. The distance is roughly 50km, including 3500-4000m of ascent - that's a lot by the way!!

The event will kick off a few days before June's summer solstice at 4am in the morning! The route passes through three distinct mountain ranges across very rocky terrain, the Snowdon Massif, The Glyderau, and The Carneddau. It will include scrambling over the exposed Crib Goch ridge, combining hill walking and rock climbing.

This challenge is not to be taken lightly and will push me to my limit. I have been told that a good fitness level is necessary but mental toughness is even more crucial!

I am doing this first and foremost to raise funds for the Beer-Harris Memorial Trust to support life giving and inclusive mental health projects: http://www.beerharrismemorialtrust.org/projects.htm

Please support this brilliant cause and if you are able please GiftAid free of charge to make your donation go even further :)
