Story
On 7th September, I will be completing the Great North Run (my first ever half marathon…yikes) in memory of my wonderful, kind and funny brother in law Ian, who lost his brave fight against a glioblastoma brain tumour on 16th July last year.
As part of his final wishes, Ian asked that we donated to charity to help find a cure for this devastating illness. In response, a group of family and friends talked about ideas to do just that. One of those ideas was to run this year’s Great North Run in Ian’s memory and to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research.
Any donation that you can give will mean so much to us.
Thank you.

One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
