Raising money for Brain Tumour Research
In memory of Ian Davis

Brain Tumour Research Great North Run 2025
Campaign by Brain Tumour Research (RCN England and Wales 1153487, Scotland SC046840)
Our #FightingForce Team are taking on the world's greatest half marathon to help find a cure for brain tumours.

Story

On 16 July 2024 our beloved Ian lost his brave and courageous battle against cancer having lived with so much strength and positivity for 18 months following his diagnosis and treatment of a glioblastoma brain tumour. Ian is deeply loved and missed by so many of us.

As part of his final wishes, Ian asked that we donated to charity to help find a cure for this devastating illness. In response, a group of family and friends talked about ideas to do just that. One of those ideas was to run this year’s Great North Run in Ian’s memory and to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research.

It costs £2740 a day to fund research. We would love to raise enough money to fund 2 days ( and many more if possible) of research.

Thank you xx

One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
