Story

I'm taking part in Rare But Real walk for Sarcoma UK. I'm walking to bring sarcoma into the spotlight, advocate for early diagnosis, and push for equitable access to care.

As some of you may know, I lost a dear friend (Colin Tyler) of 40+ years to sarcoma last December. For the past 12 years we were part of a team that organised an annual heavy metal festival called Sarcomafest to raise funds for Sarcoma UK. This will be the first year without Colin so a team from the festival are taking part in this 10k walk in his memory and to raise funds for the great charity that is Sarcoma UK.

Whether you’ve lived with sarcoma, supported someone who has, or are just beginning to learn about it, you’ll know this much is true: sarcoma is rare, but its impact is very real. Each year, 5,300 people in the UK are diagnosed - yet awareness, recognition, and treatment options still lag far behind where they need to be.

Please donate anything you can to support Rare but Real and bring about the change we need.
