Story

MRKH Connect 5000-in-50 is an annual international initiative to raise awareness for MRKH and we invite you to join us as we start again on May 30th 2025.

The challenge to participants is to contribute to the collective fundraising goal of £5000 in 50 days, in pursuit of raising awareness for MRKH.

I had my first appointment where I was told I was missing a uterus at the age of 15. After months of waiting and no answers, I wasn’t officially diagnosed with MRKH until I was 16. Throughout my diagnosis, I went through countless exams—from ultrasounds and MRIs to physically intimate exams. The diagnosis took a toll on both my mental and physical health, and despite having an amazing support system now, the beginning stages before my official diagnosis were hard, leaving me with more questions than answers.

MRKH Connect is an amazing group providing the kind of support I wish I had earlier in my diagnosis. This fundraiser hopes to bring awareness to MRKH, so young women don't have to be left with as many questions as I did. So young women don't have to feel ashamed for something that is under no ones control. It hopes to provide better help and care for women diagnosed with MRKH.

In this challenge, I will be completing two things daily for 50 days, starting May 30th till the 19th of July. I will be doing 50 sit-ups each day to support my physical health and reading for an hour a day with no electronic disruptions to support my mental health. With this I hope to encourage other people with MRKH to care for their health both physical and mental.

This event challenges every individual who takes part, all of whom will contribute to a collective fundraising target whilst promoting their own physical and mental health and feeling a sense of community.
