As you may know, outside of my day job, I have the great honour and privilege of serving as the Chair of Board of Trustees of The Mayhew Animal Home, a wonderful veterinary and animal welfare charity based in North West London, providing life-changing and much-needed services to cats, dogs and their owners in London, and through neutering & vaccination projects overseas. Mayhew helps THOUSANDS of cats and dogs each year who desperately need us; some through veterinary treatment, some through rescue and rehoming, some through the provision of food due to an owner falling into financial despair, and in numerous other ways through Mayhew’s practical hands-on programs.

Mayhew is an absolute powerhouse of a charity, run as a highly efficient organisation, by incredibly dedicated, determined and energetic professionals. I am so proud of Mayhew, and giving my time, expertise and experience on a probono basis is the very least I can do to help Mayhew achieve its critical objectives. But like many charities, Mayhew desperately needs income to keep meeting costs, and I want to play an extra part on the fundraising efforts. So, this month I am walking 100 Miles for Mayhew (with the help of my two wonderful Mayhew adoptees!) and I would be so grateful of any sponsorship you could kindly give. You probably know that I’m much more likely to found sitting at my desk than I am in any form of gym(!!) so you’ll understand why this is a big challenge for me, but it is really needed as Mayhew’s costs have increased materially and the demand for Mayhew’s services has increased materially, whilst Mayhew’s donations have been down (due partly to the tougher economic climate faced by many of our individual donors, and the delays in legacy processing many charities have witnessed), so the deeper you can dig in your pockets the better – we really need your support at the moment.
