Welcome to the London Marathon 2026 page for HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity. We’re thrilled to have you on board as part of #TeamHEARTUK, taking on one of the world’s most iconic races to help keep hearts running.

Story

I am delighted to share that I have secured a place in the 2026 London Marathon raising money for Heart UK!

I chose this charity as I signpost patients to the Heart UK website on a daily basis, to utilise their resources on understanding how cholesterol levels can be lowered.

As our cholesterol profile is only in part due to our diet, genetics and ageing contributing the rest, medications play a big role in lowering cholesterol. The Heart UK website gives clear, factual information on each of the medication options available as well as foods that can be beneficial to lowering cholesterol.

I have tried some of their receipes which have gone down well with the family!

I also wanted to raise money for Heart UK as there is a strong genetic link to heart disease in my family. Raising people’s awareness of the link between cholesterol, heart disease and strokes is so important and Heart UK does it so well.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Please read on for further information from Heart UK.

Almost half of UK adults have raised cholesterol, which can lead to heart disease. Together we can make things better.

Almost half of UK adults have raised cholesterol which can lead to heart disease. The funds you raise will help us to raise awareness of the dangers of high cholesterol.

Our vision is to prevent early disease and deaths from cholesterol and other blood fat (lipid) conditions in the UK.

Our aim is for people to know and understand their cholesterol and other blood fat (lipid) levels and take appropriate action.
