Jail or Bail London
Campaign by Maggie's Centres (RCN SC024414)
Seven of London's leading business bosses have been found guilty of outrageous charges & are locked up for Maggie's. With only a phone, laptop & their powers of persuasion, they now need your help to raise funds to pay their bail and escape jail!

Story

I am one of seven London business leaders who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of "Injecting too much engagement and interest into the learning journey of participants, specifically with regard to the use of lego, and other engagement techniques which are not in accordance with the boring training act of 1927". I've been sent down with bail set at £1,500.

Having traded in my freedom for Maggie's, with only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, the challenge I face is to call on the collective goodwill of my network to raise funds for Maggie's London. My freedom depends on it!

I’m doing this because I know the incredible work Maggie’s does in so many communities. The difference the teams make to those who are suffering from or supporting those who have cancer is incredibly heart-warming. I’m doing this in memory of my most wonderful and incredible sister in law, who wouldn’t forgive me if I didn’t jump at this opportunity to have so much fun and raise money at the same time.

Maggie's offers a unique environment where individuals can find comfort, guidance, and community during a challenging time. By taking part in this fun yet meaningful event, we aim to raise awareness and funds to ensure that Maggie's can continue offering emotional, practical, and social support to those affected by cancer.

Below are a few examples of ways your money could help:

£50 will pay for someone with cancer to see one of our psychologists and receive support in dealing with difficult emotions.

£100 can pay for someone to attend our "managing stress" course and help them deal with the emotional impact of cancer.

£500 can pay for a man to attend a weekly support group to help men with cancer share their experiences and emotions.

£900 can fund a "Where Now?" course to help people adjust mentally and practically to life after cancer treatment.

£2000 can fund a years' worth of bereavement support for anyone who's lost someone to cancer.

£3000 can keep a Maggie's centre open for a day, meaning anyone who needs us can just come in.

£15,000 can keep a Maggie’s centre open for a week, meaning anyone who needs us can just come in.
