Story

Hi Folks - kind people have called me a man of steel as I failed to complete an Ironman triathlon last September. I’m coming back for another go on July 26th and unkind people can say what they like!

Why am I supporting this charity? The Outlaw Ironman I’m entering is based in Nottingham. They do phenomenal work and my great friends Bill (fellow international cyclist) and Jennie are closely involved with them so I know them well

The project that really stole my heart is their garden that brings peace purpose and progress to volunteers. A caring and professional welcome is at the heart of the Refugee Forum helping people to find a good place in their new home country.

Massive thanks to all who gave to my charities previously. As I have another (last) go at this 3.4km swim, 180km bike and 42.2km run I thought I’m committing a lot to this so why not give others a chance to wish me well by donating.

Are you doubtful about this support for refugees- I agree there are valid questions to discuss and let’s talk Meanwhile there is a current legal framework and the quicker people move through the system the sooner people can be clear about their future Those that stay get support that helps them move on and integrate well to their new home country Those that cannot stay receive compassionate support pending leaving. NNRF support with all this.
